Tim Marlow discusses art, religion, and the environment with Gilbert Proesch and George Passmore (known collectively as Gilbert & George). The pair made a name for themselves in the early 1970s as performance artists (they adopted the term 'living sculptures', insisting that everything they do in their everyday lives is art), but were later known for their large scale photo-montages which often contained shocking and controversial images. In this fascinating documentary--shot at the Tate Modern--they reveal how it feels to be ostracized by the art community and the media, as they continue to push the boundaries of art, society, good taste, and decency.

Phil Grabsky is the director at Seventh Art Productions who has injected his creative influence into the company's documentaries to create an innovative and important range of projects that examine various topics such as Afghanistan, Angola, Mozart, Chernobyl. By working closely with members of the international public and people in the art and music industry including critics such as Tim Marlow, he is able to produce exclusive and insightful portrayals adopting a traditional and canonised documentary style.

Tim Marlow is a curator, broadcaster, writer and art historian. He is currently Director of Exhibitions at the White Cube gallery in London. From 1991 to 1998 he presented Radio Four's arts programme 'Kaleidoscope', for which he won a Sony Award, and in 1993, founded 'Tate: The Art Magazine'. Tim is the author of various books including monographs of the French sculptor Auguste Rodin and the Austrian expressionist Egon Schiele as well as a survey of great artists published by Faber. He is visiting lecturer at Winchester School of Art and an examiner on the Sculpture MA and former Creative Director of Sculpture at Goodwood.
