ResFest 2005
The ResFest is a touring digital film festival brought to you by Res Media, one
of the foremost promoters of digital culture in the world. The tour will
showcase the works of the most creative digital artists in the world, and will
travel through North America, Europe and Asia. The featured works will include
short films, music videos and animated films.
One unique new aspect of this year’s festival is the Artist Retrospective
Program, spotlighting Beck, one of the most prolific musical performers in the
world. Additionally, two different music oriented programs will highlight new
videos from cutting edge artists The Arcade Fire, The Flaming Lips, LCD
Soundsystem, The Chemical Brothers, Bloc Party, and more.
The festival will also be the arena for several special screenings of
documentaries by the most daring directors in the genre, including the world
premiere of Doug Pray’s documentary “Infamy,” chronicling the lives of today’s
most notorious, talented and charismatic graffiti artists.
Another highlight includes a special screening of the documentary “Just For
Kicks,” which brings the evolution of sneaker culture to life in vibrant
fashion.
The Res Fest kicked off in New York on September 15th, and will blaze through
San Francisco, Los Angeles and Chicago before heading to Europe and beyond.
The events will include a unique mix of screenings, parties, workshops and live
musical performances. More details are available at www.res.com.
