Art has been the main focus
in Deborah Batt`s life for as long as she can remember. She regard's herself as self-taught, having had no formal training at Art Collage. Because of this she has not been influenced in any school of thought or method. an important factor in her development as an artist. This as you will see has created a style which is truly original, innovative and free-flowing. She studied anatomy and figure drawing at various stages in her career. This has helped her gain a more in depth understanding of figurative abstracts and the rhythms of the male and female form.
Deborah has developed a reputation for colorful , adventurous work, most of her work is to do with the juxtaposition of colour, form and shape. She paint's what she feel's, sees, and most importantly imagines. She also feel's there is a need to continually explore new media, to further demonstrate the way they interact. In order to achieve this she has incorporated digital photography into her portfolio, she is as comfortable using a computer as she is handling paint on canvas
Deborah is of the belief that, "painting has to have it’s own presence. People react to painting in a multitude of intangible ways. Paintings are simultaneously graphic and emotive, but above all to be enjoyed "
Exhibiting for some years now, her work is held in private and corporate collections worldwide. She is an elected member of the Fine Art Trade Guild and The National Acrylic Painters Association. She is listed in the Brit Art Directory and Who's Who in Art and has had her work featured in among other publication`s, Art Business Today, Galleries and A-N Magazine . Her work can also be found on many Art related web sites.
