“SPILIMBERGO PHOTOGRAPHY 2009”
The XXII edition of Spilimbergo Fotografia concentrates on the different languages that characterized photography from its origins to the present with the exhibition The Portrait in Photography in the 19th and 20th Century from the Archives of CRAF in Spilimbergo. To follow, three exhibitions make a path which interlaces the events of the past century with moments of high cultural and aesthetic profile: the exhibition Futurism and Photography, which will be presented at the National Museum of Photography F.lli Alinari in Florence and later at the Sale Espositive Provinciali in Pordenone, concerns the different relationships that futurists kept up with photography. The exhibition The Age of Optimism. Propaganda and Art in Russian Photography of the 1920 – 1930s edited by the Soyuz Agency of Moscow in San Vito al T.to which dedicates to the aesthetic research of the great Russian photographers in a period of deep transformation for that huge country. And the exhibition Photography of the Twentieth Century in Friuli Venezia Giulia from the 2nd of June at the Ethnographic Museum of Ljubljana, then in Koper and later in Udine, which condenses a century of history of photography of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Through the eyes of excellent witnesses, the exhibition also interlaces with the changes - and the appearance of new cultures – of the second part of 1900 with Tullio Stravisi in collaboration with Comune di Trieste.
With the exhibition which will presented at the Centro Pasolini in Casarsa dedicated to Bruno Bruni belonging to the group of Casarsa of Pier Paolo Pasolini and he also expert of linguistic issues.
Cesare Colombo, Lifesize at the Knifes Museum in Maniago offers the works of one of the most famous historians of photography and Italian photographer and goes over fifty years of activity and history of Milan and Italy.
Finally, the epochal event of the wall fall of Berlin which radically changed the world is documented in the exhibitions Before and After the Wall produced by Contrasto, Palazzo di Sopra Spilimbergo and 9.November und die Tage danach which exposes the photographic evidence of the students at Carl –Zeiss Oberschule in Berlin during the days of the wall fall at Villa Sulis, Castelnovo del Friuli.
But the wall fall of Berlin was also preceded by an event as much important as the trip to Poland of Pope John Paul II in 1979: CRAF keeps in its archives the reportage Polonia Sempre Fidelis which was realized at that time by Carlo Leidi for a book which has never been published and which therefore acquires more historic importance. After Villa Ciani in Lestans, the exhibit will be moved to Cento (Ferrara) from November 14th to December 8th.
Finally the exhibitions Italy 1946 – 2006. From the Reconstruction to the New Millennium and I soj Tornat di Estat (dedicated to the places where lived Pasolini in Friuli) will make a tour during the year in the main Russian Museums of Photography in Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Hanty-Mansijsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Nizhni Novgorod, Kazan.
