Exclusive Heroes Video Podcast Series to Debut on Zune Marketplace
Five Episodes to Feature "Heroes" Footage Set to Music from Original Television Soundtrack
In anticipation of the upcoming release of the "Heroes" soundtrack album from NBC Universal, "Heroes" executive producer and director Allan Arkush has crafted five unique music video podcasts that will be exclusively available for free download on Zune Marketplace. Each video short features exclusive edits of "Heroes" footage set to select tracks from the album. Nada Surf's "Weightless" provides the soundtrack to the first video, which debuts February 29 on Zune Marketplace and MSN (http://tv.msn.com).
Four additional music video podcasts will roll out on Zune Marketplace leading up to the album's release on March 18. The podcasts will feature the exclusive new releases "He's Frank" by Brighton Port Authority featuring Iggy Pop, "Not Now But Soon" by Imogen Heap and "Keeping My Composure" by The Chemical Brothers featuring Spank Rock, as well as "Man In The Long Black Coat" by Bob Dylan. "Heroes" fans can collect all five and easily sync them to their Zune portable media player to watch on the go.
"We are excited to partner with a great talent like Allan Arkush to bring the music of the soundtrack to life through creative edits of "Heroes" footage," said Richard Winn, director of entertainment development for Zune. "This podcast series is part of our plan to make more original content available via Zune Marketplace."

Zune Arts Features Ro Rao and The Aliens in "Laika"
Zune announces the release of the next video in the Zune Arts series entitled "Laika", which brings together the New York based director Ro Rao and the sounds from the Scottish band The Aliens.
Set fifty years ago, Russia launches a rocket manned by a dog into space and soon loses contact with the vessel. The character dog named "Laika" soon discovers a dog utopia filled with many dog treasures, but quickly realizes that these treasures are worthless without her friends. An endearing, intergalactic tale at just how far one will go to share with friends, the film concludes with a grand gesture of friendship -sharing dog bones. The film is set to the extravagant, acid-drenched pop of "I Am the Unknown," a track from the 2007 full-length Astronomy for Dogs by The Aliens, a band that evolved from the critically acclaimed Beta Band. The soundtrack completes the artistic vision of Ro Rao, whose previous work with Ugly Pictures has been honored at a dozen of film festivals including the Tribeca Film Festival, D&AD and Annecy, and has been written up in Creativity, Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone. The new video follows in the footsteps of other creative artist collaborations which have included Cary Godbey and Maps, SSSR and M Ward, and againstallodds and The Deadly Syndrome.
