Hilow is the new brand of furniture and home decoration items
from Kyo Design, a design agency run by Christophe Francois.
Christophe Francois was born on december 24, 1962. His father was an engineer and his mother a psychologist. This combination of concrete and unconscious may have aroused his need to invent.
After having kept up the French National Art School course, as well as architecture, Christophe Francois finally decided to come about in design.
A graduate of E.S.D.I. (Ecole Supérieure de Design Industriel, in Paris), he started to create furniture in 1990 and also worked as a consultant for industrial projects.
Then after he moved towards the design of sport products, by joining the Bike Department of Décathlon, with outstanding creations such as bikes "Hop", "Hoprider" and "B'twin".
In 2001, he came back to the design of furniture -what he likes most, and showed his own creations at the Paris Furniture Fair in 2002. Some of them aroused notable amount of interest, in particular the "Woodlow" table and the multi-functions seats "Campos".
In search of an untemporal simplicity, Christophe Francois
endeavours to invent new evidences.
Some of the most remarkable creations of Christophe Francois are the following :
- the multi-functions seat « campos », which has been selected by the International Design Yearbook in 2003
- the mobile garden furniture « kasane lounge », awarded at the Design for Europe® international competition in 2002
- the « B’twin » bike, which has been widely marketed in Europe by the Décathlon sports stores. A definitive best-seller.
