22nd July 2009 - Creative communities of Dubai gather at traffic to view architectural works from students of The American University of Sharjah.
form_de_form_re-form_trans_form_in_form is an exhibition of architectural works from the students of The School of Architecture at The American University of Sharjah. The show is curated by Studio Instructor, George Katodrytis.
 The show opened on July 16th 2009 at traffic and will run until August 6th 2009. The exhibition features 21 panels and a number of models from 4th and 5th year architecture students.
form_de_form_re_form_trans_form_in_form opened at traffic on Thursday, 16th July 2009, featuring selected works of students from The School of Architecture & Design at The American University of Sharjah. This retrospective, curated by George Katodrytis, showed off 9 years of projects, realised through drawings, perspectives and small-scale models. The opening brought out Dubai’s design and art elite, who were intrigued by the evolutionary processes of architecture in the country. Students and faculty of The American University of Sharjah were also present. George Katodrytis, curator and the Architectural Studio Instructor was also on hand and said, “Students of architecture at the American University of Sharjah challenge the commercial practice of architecture in the UAE and explore creative processes and proposals for the emerging 21st city.” Also present was Rami Farook, founder of traffic and keen supporter of the local design and architectural scene, who said, “I've always been a fan of the work coming out of AUS's School of Architecture. Their setup and teaching method is unique to the region and this reflects on their design language”.  
The exhibition is on at traffic from the 16th of July to 6th of August 2009.

The exhibition features 21 panels and a large number of models of work of 4th and 5th year architecture students of the School of Architecture & Design at the American University of Sharjah. The work was done in the studio of George Katodrytis. In Fall 2003 and Spring 2004 with Khalid Al Najjar, Spring 2004 with Eirik Heinz, Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 with Kevin Sweet. The studio challenges the contemporary absence of creative process in the practice of architecture The work exhibited is committed to a rigorous exploration of ideas and celebrates architecture through invention characterized both by intuition and precision, both essential to the education and practice of architecture. We visualize architecture as an amalgam that sustains evolving transformations through multiple, diverse and often conflicting and unpredictable forces. Fostered by an unapologetic fascination with concepts and formal exploration, the studio aims to develop a cohesive and justifiable contemporary architectural language that can both challenge and participate within the urban dynamics of the contemporary UAE city
